Guided Alpine Hiking with Ron Kolath
Kolathtours is the booking home of Ron Kolath, a UIMLA International Mountain Leader who guides hikers through the Bavarian Alps and beyond.
What this site does: it is the place to browse Ron's guided day hikes and multi-day treks, see the exact distance, elevation gain and maximum altitude of every route, check live seat availability for each departure, and reserve your place in a few clicks. Every tour page lays out the day-by-day itinerary, what is included in the price and the real elevation profile of the route, so you know exactly what you are signing up for before you book. Booking requests are confirmed personally by email — never by an automated package machine.
Who it is for: hikers who are ambitious but not necessarily expert, small groups of friends, families with older children, photographers chasing alpine light, and anyone who wants to walk in the mountains with a professional who takes safety seriously. Groups stay small on purpose, routes are matched to your fitness and curiosity, and every departure is led in English or Hebrew — the whole site reads natively in either language.
Who builds and runs it: Ron Kolath, the first Israeli UIMLA International Mountain Leader, trained in Germany under the VDBS. He is a former professional photographer, winner of National Geographic Israel 2020 and a 2022 Dark Sky Ambassador, and he leads every departure himself. This platform was built and is maintained for his guiding work, so the person answering your message is the same person holding the rope on the mountain.
